About The Position

Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Internships and Partnerships, serve as career counselor in a centralized comprehensive center to individuals and groups of students and alumni providing direct student support, advisement, and guidance with a high degree of judgement, imagination, and professional skills regarding internships and career pathway planning. Assist with career assessment, career information, job search, and graduate school options. Conduct comprehensive intake interviews assisting clients with resume development, interviewing skills, job search action plans and self-assessment. Independently prescribe and interpret assessments for analysis and diagnosis to enhance counseling. Develop and present workshops and seminars on current career and employment related topics; e.g., resume writing, job search, interviewing, LinkedIn, networking, major-specific career exploration and job search. Develop and present workshops on career development and decision-making. Create appropriate multimedia resources, handouts and written materials for all educational/training work. Coordinate career–related activities such as club events, professional panels, and presentations. Serve as liaison/consultant to one of the Colleges; consult and collaborate with faculty, staff, and student organizations in relevant disciplines. Provide major-specific programming services. Research labor-market/career trends and create information resources for client use. Provide a direct link for employers to clients and faculty through services and events.
