About The Position

Radfield Home Care Caterham, Oxted & Edenbridge is hiring Care Assistants to support older people to remain safe, independent and happy in their own homes. The role is based in person in Caterham, Oxted, Edenbridge and surrounding areas. Each client has individual needs, so duties vary. Care Assistants are expected to get to know the people they support and provide care that respects their choices, independence, dignity and individuality.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and conversation, helping clients stay connected and enjoy their day.
• Support clients with personal care, including washing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
• Prepare meals and drinks and encourage good nutrition and hydration.
• Support clients with medication in line with their agreed care plan and the Care Assistant’s training.
• Help clients with mobility and moving safely around the home.
• Carry out light household tasks such as laundry, changing bedding, tidying and shopping.
• Accompany clients to appointments, social activities, shops or trips out.
• Support clients living with dementia, reduced mobility or other age-related needs.
• Help clients maintain hobbies, interests, routines and the things that are important to them.
• Provide reassurance and respite for family members.
• Notice and report changes in a client’s wellbeing, health or circumstances.
• Keep clear and accurate care records and communicate with colleagues, families and other professionals where appropriate.
• Provide care that respects clients’ choices, independence, dignity and individuality.
