About The Position

Komplex Care is hiring a Paediatric Care Assistant to provide specialist, nurse-led care to a child in Cabus, Preston. The role involves working three to four day shifts per week while the child is at school, following a two-week rota: Week 1 is Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 0700 to 1600; Week 2 is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 0700 to 1600. Night shifts are also available. Pay is £13.50 per hour.

The child requires support with ventilation, tracheostomy care and moving. The assistant will also support the child to safely enjoy activities and interests including football, Manchester United, Xbox, Lego and outings in the community. Care is delivered according to detailed clinical care plans, with individualised clinical training and nurse-led oversight. This is specialist complex care, not standard domiciliary care.

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience in care or confidence undertaking clinical training.
• Excellent attention to detail and situational awareness.
• Ability to follow detailed clinical protocols consistently.
• Basic IT skills for communication and record-keeping.
• Genuine commitment to safe, person-centred care.
• Compassionate, dependable and highly attentive approach, with the ability to remain calm and act correctly under pressure.
• Must already have the right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, medication and clinical interventions.
• Support the child with ventilation, tracheostomy care, moving and specialist equipment.
• Monitor clinical observations and recognise signs of deterioration.
• Follow detailed clinical care plans and clinical protocols consistently.
• Maintain accurate records and escalate concerns immediately.
• Support the child to safely take part in activities and community outings.
