About The Position

Avista is a person-centred, rights-based organisation dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults with disabilities. It provides day, residential and respite supports across Dublin, Limerick and North Tipperary. The Care Assistant will support people with intellectual disabilities and their families in a person-centred, community-based and socially inclusive manner, in keeping with Avista’s values and ethos and with a focus on quality, best practice and research. This is a permanent, full-time position at St. Vincent’s Centre, Lisnagry, Limerick, working 39 hours per week. Salary is €34,881–€48,434 (LSI), subject to relevant public-sector experience and pro-rated for hours worked.

Requirements

Fully completed FETAC/QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification, or a higher equivalent comparable qualification.
Full, clean manual Irish driving licence.
Proficiency in English.
Experience working in the area of intellectual disability.
Experience working with people diagnosed with autism and behaviours of concern.
Applicants should possess Level 1 behavioural competencies of the Avista competency framework.
