About The Position
This is a locum tenens position for a Physician Assistant specializing in Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery at a hospital in Lincoln, NE. The role involves clinical duties and 24-hour call coverage during specific periods in July and August 2026. The reason for coverage is a PA-C out on leave. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered. The case mix includes cardiothoracic surgery and vein harvesting. The facility uses the Epic EMR system. Temporary privileges are available via emergency privileges, with a credentialing timeline of 60-90 days.
Requirements
- Board Certified (BC) in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Active Nebraska license or Universal License (IMLC)
- Must be able to vein harvest
Nice To Haves
- EPIC experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including vein harvesting.
- Provide first assist in the OR during cardiothoracic cases.
- Cover night call, handling phone consults and emergent OR cases.
