About The Position

We are seeking a Physician Assistant specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery for a Locum Tenens position in Flagstaff, AZ. This role involves providing clinical care and taking call within a hospital setting. The assignment is from August 10, 2026, to November 09, 2026. The Physician Assistant will manage adult and geriatric patients in the CVICU and step-down units, averaging 10-15 patients per day, and will be involved in 1-2 surgeries daily. Responsibilities include performing cardiothoracic surgeries, endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH), and essential procedures such as temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and arterial line placement. The schedule includes a clinical shift from 7a-3p and beeper call from 3p-7a on weeknights.

Requirements

• Active Arizona license
• PA (Physician Assistant) board certification required
• DEA required
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Minimum 3 years in cardiothoracic surgery with EVH

Responsibilities

• Provide cardiothoracic surgical care to adult/geriatric patients
• Manage CVICU and step-down patients (10-15 per day)
• Perform surgeries (1-2 per day) including endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH)
• Take beeper call from 3p-7a on weeknights during assignment
• Perform required procedures such as temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and arterial line placement
