About The Position

Nevada Heart & Vascular Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Cardiothoracic Surgery (CTS) Supervisor to lead our CTS Coordinators and support our cardiothoracic surgery physicians. This role serves as a critical liaison between patients, providers, hospitals, and clinical staff to ensure a seamless surgical experience from consultation through recovery. The CTS Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Cardiothoracic Surgery department, ensuring patient records, surgical documentation, and pre-operative requirements are complete and accurate. This role provides leadership, mentoring, scheduling, and support to CTS Coordinators while serving as a key point of contact for patients throughout the surgical process.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • BLS Certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a CTS Coordinator.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare technology systems.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program.
  • Nevada LPN or RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support CTS Coordinators through training, coaching, and daily oversight.
  • Coordinate all aspects of cardiovascular surgical procedures and related documentation.
  • Serve as the primary patient contact for pre-operative and post-operative questions and concerns.
  • Ensure surgical charts, imaging, laboratory results, and records are complete and available for physician review.
  • Coordinate surgery scheduling and communication with hospitals and surgical departments.
  • Manage staffing schedules, timecard corrections, call-outs, overtime requests, and departmental coverage.
  • Facilitate communication among physicians, patients, clinical staff, and outside healthcare organizations.
  • Monitor department workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement.
