About The Position

Froedtert South has an exciting opportunity for an experienced physician assistant to join Goya Raikar, M.D., an experienced robotically trained Cardiothoracic Surgeon. The ideal candidate would work in the operating room, provide inpatient management, and have an outpatient practice in our growing cardiothroracic surgery program. The Physician Assistant will direct patient care in the hospital and clinic setting, handle all aspects of treatment plans, review and evaluate test results, complete medical documentation under the supervision of Dr. Raikar. The Physician Assistant will also serve as a first assistant in surgery, harvest vein graphs, and provide training for the rest of the surgical team. The Physician Assistant will have on-call responsibilities, which will include responding to inpatient and outpatient inquiries, responding to the hospital to attend to inpatients, and responding to the hospital to assist with urgent/emergent surgeries. Requirements

  • Master's in Physician Assistant Studies or related field
  • Successful completion of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
  • National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification
  • Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Wisconsin
  • Three years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery

Responsibilities
