About The Position

This is a Locum Tenens position for a Cardiac Surgery Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in Loveland, CO. The role involves both inpatient and outpatient services, providing supplemental coverage for a cardiac surgery team. The coverage period is from September 1st and ongoing, requiring clinical duties plus call. The schedule is full-time, consisting of four 10-hour shifts per week, with call one night per week and one weekend per month. The patient volume is typically 7-8 patients per day, with 1-3 surgeries expected daily. The patient demographics are adults only. The primary duty is serving as an OR First Assist in cardiac surgery.

Requirements

Active CO License
BC
BLS
Minimum 6 months experience
Must be able to insert/remove arterial Lines
COVID vaccination
NPDB report

Nice To Haves

Proficient in all cardiac surgeries CABG with EVH and endoscopic radial harvesting, valve surgeries, structural heart and aortic
General CV/thoracic surgery: Open & Endoscopic, Coronary artery bypass surgery: on & off pump, Congenital defects (ASD, VSD, PFO, etc.)
Valvular repair, Valvular replacement
Aneurysm repair, Aneurysm repair- aorto-thoracic, Lung resection (including VATs)
Chest wall or pleural procedures
Esophagus and diaphragm surgeries
Left ventricular assist devices

Responsibilities

OR First Assist (cardiac surgery)
Proficient in all cardiac surgeries including CABG with EVH and endoscopic radial harvesting, valve surgeries, structural heart and aortic procedures.
Insert/Remove arterial Lines
Assist with General CV/thoracic surgery: Open & Endoscopic, Coronary artery bypass surgery: on & off pump, Congenital defects (ASD, VSD, PFO, etc.).
Assist with Valvular repair and replacement.
Assist with Aneurysm repair, Aneurysm repair- aorto-thoracic.
Assist with Lung resection (including VATs).
Assist with Chest wall or pleural procedures.
Assist with Esophagus and diaphragm surgeries.
Assist with Left ventricular assist devices.
Insertion of arterial line.
