About The Position
This is an ongoing coverage need for a Cardiothoracic Surgery NP/PA position. The role focuses solely on call coverage for adult and geriatric patients. The assignment is expected to be long-term as the facility conducts a permanent search. The practice setting is call coverage only, with the schedule to be determined. The EMR system used is EPIC, and credentialing typically takes 30 days.
Requirements
- Active South Carolina licensure
- Board certification
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 1-year Cardiothoracic Surgery experience or equivalent
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) or Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
- Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in South Carolina
- National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
- Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in South Carolina
- National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
- Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
- Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
