About The Position
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) specializing in General Surgery for a locum tenens position. This role involves providing clinical coverage for inpatient services, assisting in the operating room, and managing patient care during scheduled non-urgent cases. The position is located in Atlanta & Decatur, GA, with a coverage period from August 3, 2026, to December 31, 2026. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with rotating weekends. The average daily patient volume is 10-30, with a weekly volume of 90-110. The case mix includes General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ob/Gyn, Urology, and ENT procedures. The facility utilizes the Epic EMR system.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE)
- Licensed in GA
- BLS certification
Responsibilities
- Assist in OR on surgical cases
- Provide surgical assistance for General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ob/Gyn, Urology, and ENT procedures
- Manage patient care during scheduled non-urgent cases
- Collaborate with surgeons, scrub techs, circulating RNs, and CRNAs in the operating room
