The Cardiac Progressive Care Unit RN assesses patients, plans and provides individualized care, supports patient education and discharge preparation, and ensures care is delivered in accordance with professional, regulatory, and institutional standards.

Requirements

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
• BLS certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification obtained during clinical orientation.
• ECG course completed during clinical orientation.
• Critical Care course completed during clinical orientation.

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred; alternatively, a BSN must be obtained within three years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess the health status of assigned patients according to Nursing Standards.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care based on patient assessment and the Multi-Disciplinary Plan of Care.
• Provide direct patient care or direct and supervise other health team members to ensure proper implementation of care in accordance with New Jersey Board of Nursing requirements, current regulatory guidelines, the ANA Code of Ethics, and institutional policies and procedures.
• Teach patients and significant others about the health or illness state and the plan of care.
• Ensure patients and significant others are prepared for discharge and health maintenance in the home setting.
