About The Position

Saint Peter's is seeking talented, compassionate registered nurses to join its award-winning nursing team. The Cardiac Progressive Care Unit RN assesses assigned patients, develops and delivers individualized care, supervises care delivered by other health team members, educates patients and significant others, and prepares patients for discharge and health maintenance at home. Care is delivered in accordance with nursing standards, New Jersey Board of Nursing requirements, current regulatory guidelines, the ANA Code of Ethics, and institutional policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
• BSN preferred, or must be obtained within three years of hire.
• BLS certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification must be obtained during clinical orientation.
• ECG course must be completed during clinical orientation.
• Critical Care course must be completed during clinical orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assess the health status of assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care based on patient assessments and the Multi-Disciplinary Plan of Care.
• Provide direct patient care or direct and supervise other health team members to ensure proper implementation of care in accordance with applicable nursing and regulatory requirements and institutional policies.
• Teach patients and significant others about the health or illness state and plan of care.
• Ensure patients and significant others are prepared for discharge and health maintenance in the home setting.
