RN - Cardiac Progressive Care
About The Position
Rust Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Cardiac Progressive Care (Cardiac Step-Down) unit. The semi-specialized unit primarily cares for cardiac patients who require telemetry monitoring for cardiovascular disorders, including cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure. Patients recovering from myocardial infarction, coronary intervention, and electrophysiology procedures are also cared for on the unit. The team provides quality care through a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach, including comprehensive inpatient care and personalized discharge planning to address outpatient needs. Applications are welcome from new graduates and experienced RNs. New graduates may participate in the mandatory Nurse Residency Program, which includes monthly seminars, peer-to-peer debriefing sessions, support groups and mentoring, and rounding to support the transition into practice.
Requirements
- Associate degree in nursing is the minimum education requirement; a degree from an accredited academic nursing program is preferred.
- Registered Nurse license for New Mexico or a compact-state nursing license.
- BLS certification is required at the time of hire.

Responsibilities
- Provide specialized, patient-focused care to cardiac patients requiring telemetry monitoring for cardiovascular disorders, including arrhythmias and heart failure.
- Care for patients recovering from myocardial infarction, coronary intervention, and electrophysiology procedures.
- Provide comprehensive professional patient care during inpatient stays.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver quality care.
- Provide personalized discharge planning to meet patients’ outpatient needs.
