RN Staff Nurse - Progressive Cardiac Care
About The Position
Legacy nursing centers its philosophy on patients and their families. Nurses serve as advocates, communicators, problem-solvers, and caregivers, and are respected members of the health care team. This position is in the Progressive Cardiac Care Unit (PCCU) at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in North Portland. The 22-bed cardiac telemetry/stepdown unit serves adult and geriatric cardiovascular patients who require acute-care nursing observation, intervention, assessment, and treatment based on their needs. The RN Staff Nurse is responsible for patient care in an assigned department or unit and participates as a member of the health care team, in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee. The nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care in accordance with Legacy Health System standards, including standards for patient assessment and transfer, and the applicable Registered Nurse standards and scope of practice.
Requirements
- One year of registered nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program equivalent in content, curriculum, and duration.
- Acute care experience.
- Current applicable state RN license.
- AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
- Education as required by licensure.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or degree in progress is strongly preferred; a BSN may be required for specific assignments. Experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO.
- Step-down cardiac or telemetry experience preferred.
