Card Printer Maintenance Technician - High Volume
About The Position
Empower AI is seeking a Card Printer Maintenance Technician - High Volume (HV) to provide regularly scheduled onsite preventive maintenance and on-call remedial maintenance for critical agency card printers nationwide, including local test facilities, to ensure uninterrupted passport production. This role involves deploying HV Card Printers, implementing upgrades, investigating and identifying root causes for incidents, and making recommendations for mitigation. The technician will also implement changes across functional units, review space utilization reports, and function as Level/Tier II support for analyzing, troubleshooting, and implementing solutions for HV Printer technical problems. Additionally, the role includes producing knowledge base articles and SOPs, providing technical guidance, implementing configuration settings, preparing written and oral reports, and participating in lifecycle refresh projects and critical patch deployments.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience
- Associate's degree or technical training
- Certification in HV Printer Vendor Training
- Secret Security Clearance
Responsibilities
- Provide regularly scheduled onsite preventive maintenance and on-call remedial maintenance for critical agency card printers nationwide.
- Ensure uninterrupted passport production.
- Deploy HV Card Printers using best practices.
- Implement upgrades to the OS and/or hardware based on existing operations and future needs.
- Investigate and identify the root causes for open Incidents and make recommendations toward mitigation steps to prevent future repeat occurrences.
- Implement changes across other functional units providing recommendations to mitigate risk or impact to the environment.
- Review space utilization reports, and make recommendations to maintain space requirements.
- Function as Level / Tier II support for analyzing, troubleshooting, and implementing solutions related to HV Printer technical problems.
- Escalate issues to vendor and third-party entities, as necessary and directed by the Government.
- Produce knowledge base articles and SOPs.
- Provide technical guidance, and assistance to assigned projects, suggesting efficient approaches and methods for solving problems.
- Implement configuration settings to ensure the technical integrity of the system baseline.
- Implement configuration changes as various changes are imposed on the system during the lifecycle from development through deployment and operations and maintenance.
- Prepare present written and oral reports.
- Be instrumental in the implementation of lifecycle refresh projects and deploy critical patches in accordance with the HV Card Printer schedules.
