About The Position

To deal the game of poker, blackjack and other card games consistent with games the company offers in accordance with the accepted operating procedures, rules and policies of the casino.

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, memos, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write communicative correspondence and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, tips, and return on cash transactions.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must qualify for and maintain an Elk Valley Rancheria Gaming license.
Must be able to work under stressful situations.
Must be able to work in a smoke filled environment.

Responsibilities

Providing customers with prompt, friendly customer service by smiling, calling the customer by name and attending to all their needs.
Providing guests an entertaining gaming experience and enriching work environment for our team.
Enticing players to sit at table and play.
Being knowledgeable regarding all policies and procedures pertaining to the card games the Casino offers.
Presenting a neat, clean and well groomed appearance at all times.
Dealing cards to patrons efficiently.
Playing house hands from behind a gaming table.
Dealing appropriate number of cards out to players.
Checking players' bets.
Comparing players' hands with the house and determining the winner.
Announcing the winner and beginning a new game.
Exchanging money for chips to be used in games.
Inspecting cards to ensure compliance with gaming standards.
Inspecting gaming equipment.
Receiving cash wagers.
Computing players' winnings and losses.
Answering questions about game rules and variations.
Watching for scammers or cheaters and having them removed from table if necessary.
Notifying Pit Supervisor of any irregularities.
Resolving disputes or arguments by conferring with the supervisor on duty.
Preparing collection reports for submission to supervisors.
