West Region Capital Project Manager

KRC Corporation•Tangent, OR

About The Position

The CAPEX Project Manager oversees high-impact strategic capital projects across every business line and state in the West Region, partnering with corporate, regional, and state-level leadership and third-party vendors to keep investment on scope, within budget, and on schedule. The role partners with the Regional Asset Manager on capital budgeting and forecasting, from initial planning through execution. This newly created role establishes a consistent, region-wide approach to strategic capital project delivery. During the first year, the manager will build a project playbook covering cost estimating, scheduling, and delivery, serve as a consistent point of contact for states’ highest-impact capital work, and help move projects from planning into execution. The role requires financial acumen, sound project-planning judgment, and the ability to build structure where no established process exists. The manager must earn alignment across state teams and vendors without formal authority, communicate project status and risk clearly to leadership, and maintain Knife River’s safety standards. Travel across the West Region is required as project work demands.
