About The Position

The Outreach Team is seeking a Canvass Field Director in South Sioux City, Nebraska, to lead a team of canvassers for the Working Class Majority Pac. This role involves talking to voters about Dan Osborn's run for Senate and organizing community support for local clean energy storage projects. The Field Director will train and manage canvassers, lead by example by canvassing themselves, communicate goals, manage reporting, and build a team from the ground up. This position emphasizes grassroots organizing, face-to-face conversations, and fostering a culture of equity and justice.

Nice To Haves

• Experience running paid canvasses or managing paid employees
• Familiarity with VAN and MiniVAN
• Experience working in underserved or marginalized communities
• Facilitation experience
• Local knowledge/experience

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 40–60 hourly staff who will canvass door to door to talk to community members about local clean energy storage projects and build community support for a reliable, affordable energy future
• Canvass yourself several days a week to train staff and drive office goals
• Set goals and hold staff accountable to them
• Train and provide ongoing motivation and support to staff
• Identify, promote, and train a leadership team
• Build a diverse team where staff feel respected while fostering a culture of equity and justice
• Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of the work
• Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all staff
• Develop strategic plans to reach targeted constituents in assigned locations
• Manage administrative duties, including reporting data, record keeping, processing payroll, and distribution of materials
