About The Position

The Outreach Team is a premier national field firm partnering with organizations to solve major societal problems, such as expanding clean energy and strengthening communities. They are seeking Field Directors to build community support for Dan Osborn for Senate in Nebraska's upcoming election. This role is for individuals who believe in building political power from the ground up through deep organizing and face-to-face conversations. The Field Director will train canvassers in the field, canvass themselves to lead by example, communicate goals to staff, and manage campaign reporting. They will manage canvassers and Team Leads and report to the Lead Director. The Lead Campaign Director will manage Deputy Directors and build an office from the ground up, reporting to the Project Director. The Deputy Director reports to the Lead Director. This specific position is located in Sioux City, NE, with a preference for local candidates.

Requirements

Leadership experience; ability to motivate, grow, and manage a large team
Eagerness to lead from the front and canvass several days a week
Extreme attention to detail and a proven ability to instill that quality in others
Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
Strong passion for community organizing and fostering civic engagement
Track record of equity and inclusion
Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

Experience running paid canvasses or managing paid employees
Familiarity with VAN and MiniVAN
Experience working in underserved or marginalized communities
Facilitation experience
Local knowledge/experience

Responsibilities

Manage a team of 40–60 hourly staff who will canvass door to door to talk to community members about local clean energy storage projects and build community support for a reliable, affordable energy future
Canvass yourself several days a week to train staff and drive office goals
Set goals and hold staff accountable to them
Train and provide ongoing motivation and support to staff
Identify, promote, and train a leadership team
Build a diverse team where staff feel respected while fostering a culture of equity and justice
Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of the work
Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all staff
Develop strategic plans to reach targeted constituents in assigned locations
Manage administrative duties, including reporting data, record keeping, processing payroll, and distribution of materials
