About The Position

The Outreach Team is seeking a Canvass Field Director in Gretna, Nebraska, to lead a team in engaging voters about Dan Osborn's run for Senate. This role involves training and managing canvassers, leading by example through personal canvassing, communicating goals, and managing campaign reporting. The Field Director will report to the Lead Director and is responsible for building and scaling an office from the ground up. The position emphasizes grassroots organizing and face-to-face conversations to build political power. The Field Director will manage a team of 40-60 hourly staff who will conduct door-to-door canvassing to discuss local clean energy storage projects and build community support for a reliable, affordable energy future. The role requires the director to canvass several days a week to train staff and meet office goals, set and enforce staff accountability, provide ongoing training and motivation, identify and develop a leadership team, and foster a culture of equity and justice. Additionally, the director will implement quality control, maintain a safe working environment, develop strategic outreach plans, and manage administrative duties such as reporting, record keeping, payroll processing, and material distribution.

Requirements

Leadership experience; ability to motivate, grow, and manage a large team
Eagerness to lead from the front and canvass several days a week
Extreme attention to detail and a proven ability to instill that quality in others
Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
Strong passion for community organizing and fostering civic engagement
Track record of equity and inclusion
Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

Experience running paid canvasses or managing paid employees
Familiarity with VAN and MiniVAN
Experience working in underserved or marginalized communities
Facilitation experience
