About The Position

The Outreach Team is seeking a Canvass Field Director in Hastings, NE, to lead a team of canvassers for the Working Class Majority Pac. This role involves talking to voters about Dan Osborn's run for Senate and organizing from the ground up through face-to-face conversations. The Field Director will train and manage canvassers, set goals, report on campaign progress, and lead by example by canvassing themselves. This position is crucial for building community support for local clean energy storage projects and advocating for a reliable, affordable energy future. The role requires managing a team of 40-60 hourly staff, developing strategic plans, and handling administrative duties such as reporting, record keeping, and payroll processing. The Field Director will also be responsible for identifying and training a leadership team, fostering a culture of equity and justice, and ensuring a healthy and safe working environment.

Requirements

Leadership experience; ability to motivate, grow, and manage a large team
Eagerness to lead from the front and canvass several days a week
Extreme attention to detail and a proven ability to instill that quality in others
Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
Strong passion for community organizing and fostering civic engagement
Track record of equity and inclusion
Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

Experience running paid canvasses or managing paid employees
Familiarity with VAN and MiniVAN
Experience working in underserved or marginalized communities
Facilitation experience

Responsibilities

Canvass yourself several days a week to train staff and drive office goals

Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of the work
Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all staff
Develop strategic plans to reach targeted constituents in assigned locations
Manage administrative duties, including reporting data, record keeping, processing payroll, and distribution of materials
