About The Position

Habitat for Humanity GTA is greater Toronto’s most recognized provider and advocate of solutions that tackle our region’s housing crisis. Their mission is to create a world where everyone has a safe, quality place to live, focusing on creative solutions to address the affordable housing crisis in Toronto, Brampton, Caledon, York Region and Durham Region. With the help of volunteers, donors and community partners, they aim to unlock change for generations by bringing the benefits of home ownership to more people and communities. Since 1988, Habitat GTA has built 23 new communities, empowering more than 500 families. The Social Services Volunteer Coordinator will represent Habitat for Humanity GTA as a Brand Ambassador, modeling their values and guiding principles. This role involves assisting with volunteer recruitment and onboarding, maintaining the volunteer database and updating records in the Volunteer Management System (Volunteer Hub), supporting volunteer communications through email campaigns, newsletters, and social media posts, and helping to organize volunteer appreciation and recognition initiatives such as milestone award ceremonies. The coordinator will also provide administrative support for training sessions and participate in team meetings to contribute ideas for improving volunteer recruitment, engagement, and appreciation.

Requirements

  • Must be Fluent in English
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada throughout the duration of their employment with Habitat for Humanity GTA
  • The successful candidate must receive clearance by a police background check

Responsibilities

  • Represent Habitat for Humanity GTA as a Brand Ambassador by modeling our values and guiding principles
  • Assist with volunteer recruitment and onboarding (research of platforms and community partnerships, data entry, email campaigns)
  • Maintain volunteer database and update records in Volunteer Management System, i.e.: Volunteer Hub
  • Support volunteer communications (email campaigns, newsletters, social media posts)
  • Help organize volunteer appreciation and recognition initiatives, i.e.: milestone award ceremonies
  • Provide administrative support for training sessions
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving volunteer recruitment, engagement, and appreciation
