Campus Location & Community Presence Coordinator (Volunteer, Unpaid)

Greater IMPACT ChurchReading, PA
Hybrid

About The Position

Greater IMPACT Church is a Christ-centered ministry passionate about meeting people right where they are with the love, hope, and life-changing message of Jesus Christ. Combining a vibrant digital campus with expanding grassroots presence in the Greater Reading community, our mission is not to wait inside four walls for people to find us, but to actively "go to them"—building genuine relationships in local neighborhoods, public parks, and community gathering spaces. We are seeking a proactive, relational, and detail-oriented Campus Location & Community Presence Coordinator to lead our local scouting and grassroots outreach efforts across Reading, PA. The Campus Location & Community Presence Coordinator plays a vital dual role in advancing Greater IMPACT Church's physical footprint in Greater Reading. You will serve on the frontlines of our community campaign strategy: Facility & Venue Scouting: Actively identifying, contacting, and touring potential physical meeting spaces (schools, theaters, community centers, commercial spaces, event venues) across Reading and Berks County to evaluate feasibility for future church gatherings and events. Grassroots Community Campaigns & Park Outreaches: Planning and coordinating high-visibility, relational pop-up presences in local public parks, plazas, and community events—setting up inviting environments (tents, tables, free refreshments, prayer stations) where our church family connects with neighbors face-to-face. Working in direct partnership with our Operations Pastor, Executive Pastor, and Lead Pastor, you will compile structured site assessments and outreach logistics. When promising venue opportunities are identified, our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will step in to handle formal rate negotiations, contracts, and legal agreements.

Requirements

  • Must reside within 10 miles of Reading, PA to facilitate local venue site visits, city permitting coordination, and on-the-ground outreach events.
  • Confident picking up the phone, sending professional emails, and building rapport with venue directors, local officials, and community members.
  • Capable of tracking multiple venue leads, taking thorough notes, capturing photos/specs, and keeping leadership updated in a timely manner.
  • Enjoys working closely with pastoral leadership and operations, with clear understanding of role boundaries (scouting and relationship-building vs. formal financial/contractual negotiation).
  • A warm, approachable personality who loves being outdoors, interacting with neighbors, and introducing people to Jesus and church community.
  • A living relationship with Jesus Christ, personal integrity, and alignment with the mission, vision, and core values of Greater IMPACT Church.
  • Ability to commit approximately 4–6 flexible hours per week on a hybrid basis (combining weekend/weekday on-site visits with flexible remote administrative work).

Responsibilities

  • Identify prospective gathering locations across Reading, PA and surrounding areas (auditoriums, school gyms/cafeterias, community halls, civic centers, event venues).
  • Contact property managers and venue administrators to gather key information: rental pricing structures, booking availability, capacity limits, parking access, and AV/technical infrastructure.
  • Schedule and attend on-site walkthroughs (either independently or alongside pastoral leadership) to take photos, evaluate room flow, and assess accessibility.
  • Prepare clear, concise summary briefs detailing options, pros/cons, and baseline pricing for the pastoral team and Board of Directors.
  • Coordinate closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) by handing off initial rate and term data so church leadership can manage formal price negotiations, lease terms, and contract execution.
  • Scout high-foot-traffic parks, recreational centers, and public plazas in Reading suitable for pop-up outreach and community campaigning.
  • Research and assist with necessary park and event permits through the City of Reading Parks & Recreation or municipal offices.
  • Coordinate the physical presence kit (branded pop-up tents, tables, banners, promotional materials, free water/coffee stations, prayer and connection tables).
  • Collaborate with the Operations Pastor and Volunteer Onboarding Coordinator to organize serving schedules, ensure volunteer coverage, and make sure team members are equipped with materials and clear instructions.
  • Foster a welcoming, non-intimidating, and hospitable environment that represents Greater IMPACT Church with warmth, excellence, and Christ-like love.
