Social Media Coordinator (Volunteer, Unpaid)

Greater IMPACT Church,
Remote

About The Position

Greater IMPACT Church is a Christ-centered, digital-first ministry focused on sharing the love, truth, and transforming power of Jesus Christ. With a global digital reach and local initiatives in the Reading area, we use social media, digital storytelling, and creative content to connect with people. We are looking for a creative, organized, and digitally savvy Social Media Coordinator to manage our social platforms. The Social Media Coordinator will act as the link between our visual content and our digital community. Collaborating with the Video Editor and communications team, you will transform sermon clips, short-form reels, event promos, and graphic quotes into engaging social posts for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Community. In addition to scheduling posts, you will actively engage with the community by responding to comments, celebrating follower milestones, monitoring DMs, and ensuring our social feeds serve as an inspiring ministry touchpoint from Monday to Saturday.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience managing or curating active social media accounts (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) with an eye for clean aesthetics and engaging copywriting.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to articulate theological and inspirational concepts in concise, relatable language.
  • Self-motivated and dependable in scheduling posts ahead of time and maintaining consistent weekly delivery.
  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for redeeming digital media to point people to the Gospel.
  • Ability to commit approximately 4–6 flexible hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the church's weekly social media content calendar, scheduling posts across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Community using scheduling tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Later, Buffer).
  • Craft engaging, hook-driven captions, relevant Scripture references, calls to action, and effective hashtag strategies that encourage saves, shares, and comments.
  • Partner closely with the Video Editor and Graphic Designer to receive polished reels, vertical clips, and visual assets, ensuring optimal formatting for each platform.
  • Post interactive Instagram and Facebook Stories throughout the week (polls, sermon reflections, prayer prompts, countdowns to Sunday).
  • Monitor post comments and direct messages (DMs) with warmth and promptness, answering logistical questions and routing prayer requests or pastoral care needs to church leadership.
  • Stay current on evolving social media trends, trending audio, and algorithm best practices to continually increase the ministry's organic reach.
