About The Position

Greater IMPACT Church is a Christ-centered, digital-first ministry focused on sharing the love, truth, and transforming power of Jesus Christ. With a global digital reach and expanding local initiatives in the Greater Reading area, the church is powered by dedicated Volunteer Ministry Workers. The church is seeking an organized, hospitable, and relational Volunteer Onboarding Coordinator to welcome and guide new volunteers through their journey of serving. The Volunteer Onboarding Coordinator will be the primary point of contact for individuals applying to serve at Greater IMPACT Church. This hybrid role involves flexible remote applicant communication and occasional in-person volunteer meetups, campus tours, and leader syncs in the Reading, PA area. The goal is to make the onboarding process a caring, spiritually encouraging experience where prospective team members feel valued, understood, and prepared to serve.

Requirements

  • Must reside within 10 miles of Reading, PA.
  • Possess a friendly, encouraging demeanor with strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Be dependable in tracking candidate progress, following up promptly, and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Be comfortable working with digital tools such as Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail), Planning Center People, or Dover ATS.
  • Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, personal integrity, and alignment with the statement of faith and vision of Greater IMPACT Church.
  • Ability to commit approximately 4–6 flexible hours per week on a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor incoming volunteer applications and ensure timely review and acknowledgment within 48 hours.
  • Conduct brief introductory phone or video calls to understand prospective volunteers, their spiritual background, and team fit.
  • Guide approved candidates through volunteer profile setup, safety guidelines, volunteer handbooks, and background check submissions.
  • Meet with local volunteers for in-person campus walk-throughs, volunteer huddles, and team introduction meetings in Reading, PA.
  • Coordinate with ministry leaders to introduce new volunteers to their respective team leads and schedule initial shadowing or training.
  • Check in with new volunteers after their first 30 days to gather feedback, answer questions, and ensure they feel supported and connected.
