About The Position

The Campus Dining Dish Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of dishes, pots, pans, and the general dish room area. This role involves working both independently and as part of a team under moderate conditions to ensure all items are washed and sanitized in a timely manner. The position requires adherence to company sanitation and safety procedures, as well as all applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and satisfy performance standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with co-workers and kitchen staff/management.
  • Ability to learn and operate dish machines.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, guidelines and objectives.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and employees.
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out general written or oral instruction.
  • Ability to use a variety of equipment and utensils.
  • Must have the ability to talk/expressing and/or exchanging ideas and hear/perceiving sounds.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, wipe, and move throughout the dish room for up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to handle objects, utensils, tools and controls.
  • Must be able to move, lift or carry heavy objects or materials up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve all dishes, pots, pans, utensils and other items from kitchen and other areas.
  • Ensure all items are washed and sanitized in a timely manner throughout the shift.
  • Learn and operate all aspects of a high temperature dish washing machine.
  • Clean/sanitize, empty trash, sweep, and maintain cleanliness of the dish room/area.
  • Adhere to company sanitation procedures.
  • Observe all safety and company rules and guidelines.
  • Comply with and ensure continued, consistent compliance with all company policies, and federal, state, and local laws/regulations including but not limited to: employment, safety, and health.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
