About The Position

The Cage Cashier collects money from gamblers, processes payments, deposits money into the casino’s bank, accurately records transactions, and pays out winners. The role requires attention to detail when counting funds, identifying counterfeit bills, and correcting errors. The cashier also uses math skills to handle numerous transactions and large sums of money, and communicates effectively with customers about casino policies.

The position is responsible for maintaining security and accountability over funds and gaming-related items, preparing accurate reports, and providing outstanding service to internal and external customers. The job requires prolonged standing and physical mobility, including the ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 20 pounds, with reasonable accommodations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak English.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including discounts, interest, and commission, and apply fractions, percentages, and problem-solving to practical situations.
• Previous money-handling experience.
• Experience with a 10-key calculator.
• Computer experience, including AS400.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Physical mobility, with reasonable accommodations, including the ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security and accountability over cash and cash advances, front money, gaming chips, jackpot payouts, kiosk collections, markers, personal checks, promotional coupons, and slot vouchers.
• Prepare accurate reports as needed, including bank balancing, closeout reports, daily deposits, table fills and credits, kiosk reconciliation, check-cashing applications, and subsidiary reports.
• Provide outstanding internal and external service.
• Collect money from gamblers, process payments, deposit money into the casino’s bank, accurately record transactions, and pay out winners.
