About The Position

The Cafe Team / Barista is a customer-facing role in Go Get Em Tiger’s retail coffeehouses, focused on providing warm hospitality and preparing and serving coffee, drinks, and food. The work includes brewing coffee, extracting espresso, finishing drinks, serving food, running and bussing tables, washing dishes, and maintaining a clean workspace. The role also handles customer transactions, supports inventory and internal ordering, and stays knowledgeable about current menu offerings.

Prior barista experience is not required; the company provides training in technical skills. Success in the role depends on enthusiasm for coffee, food, and hospitality; kindness, honesty, and a willingness to learn; and a desire to care for customers and coworkers. This is a full-time, hourly position in Los Angeles, California, with a starting wage of $18.42 per hour plus pooled tips. The posting estimates total pay at about $25 per hour with tips, often more, with a baseline of $7 per hour in tips.

Requirements

• California Food Handler’s Certification, or willingness to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
• Ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to move frequently around the cafe during a shift; operate job-related tools such as coffee brewers and espresso machines; communicate with customers throughout the shift; frequently move coffee, food, or merchandise in bins weighing up to 40 pounds; and taste coffee for quality control.

Responsibilities

• Be kind, engaging, and knowledgeable about the company’s offerings and coffee generally.
• Provide positive, honest, and excellent hospitality to customers and coworkers.
• Serve guests quickly and efficiently.
• Build skills across daily coffee-bar operations, including customer service, coffee brewing, espresso extraction, drink finishing, food service, dishwashing, and general cleaning.
• Handle cash and card transactions and accurately maintain the till.
• Assist with internal inventory and ordering of goods.
• Stay up to date on menu offerings.
• Maintain the condition of the workspace.
• Taste coffee during shifts for quality-control purposes.
