About The Position

The Café/Deli Attendant works at Java Ranch Café under the supervision of the Executive Chef and Dining Room Supervisor. The attendant courteously and professionally serves meals to residents and their guests and plays a key public-relations role through direct contact with them. The role involves preparing menu items for residents, guests, and associates according to standardized recipes, preparation and serving methods, portion controls, and health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. The attendant also supports customer service, café operations, inventory, and staff training.

Requirements

Relate positively and favorably to residents and families and work cooperatively with other associates.
Be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Show interest and initiative in learning quickly, working as part of a team, and building relationships with residents and coworkers to provide excellent customer service.
Be able to lift 50 lbs to waist height and 35 lbs to shoulder height.
Be able to push 200 lbs on a cart with casters.

Responsibilities

Prepare menu items for residents, guests, and associates according to standardized recipes, preparation methods, portion controls, serving methods, and health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
Perform assigned pre-opening and closing checklist duties.
Help maintain a high level of customer service for residents and guests.
Store and label prepared foods properly.
Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, and product rotation.
Alert management to concerns or problems involving residents, guests, or associates.
Operate the POS system to register sales.
Maintain back-stock areas and assist with monthly inventory according to department standards.
Train other staff as needed.
Maintain work areas and keep the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards.
Serve meals courteously and professionally to residents and their guests at Java Ranch Café.
