About The Position

The Cafe Attendant serves customers at Masonicare at Ashlar Village, completing pre-meal, service, and post-meal duties according to training standards and sanitation procedures. The role requires courteous, efficient customer service, proper food-safety practices, and attendance at mandatory education programs. The position is 20 hours per week, with day and evening shifts and every-other-weekend work.

• Attend all mandatory education programs, in-services, obligations, and meetings.
• Maintain a clean, professional uniform; uniform laundering and maintenance are the employee's responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Report to work on time in a clean, professional uniform and follow posted schedules and procedures for requesting time off or calling out.
• Follow proper time-clock procedures to ensure accurate recording of hours worked.
• Complete pre-meal side work and setup assignments thoroughly and within the allotted time, as checked by a supervisor.
• Check assigned tables for accuracy, cleanliness, and appearance.
• Participate in menu meetings before each service to learn menu items and service instructions.
• Assist patrons promptly and efficiently, identify and address customer needs, and treat customers and coworkers courteously and respectfully.
• Handle customer issues professionally and use available options to satisfy customers.
• Clear tables promptly, efficiently, and unobtrusively according to training standards.
• Follow cash-handling and credit-card procedures as directed by a supervisor.
• Complete post-meal side-work assignments thoroughly and within the allotted time, as checked by a supervisor.
• Attend and complete mandatory in-services, obligations, and meetings.
• Follow safe food-handling and hand-washing procedures and sanitize trays, work areas, and equipment.
