About The Position

The Cashier is the face of the store, providing customer service and helping ensure guests have a positive shopping experience. The role involves greeting customers, handling point-of-sale transactions, supporting retail sales, and maintaining the store and gas-pump areas. Candidates should be dependable, customer-focused, effective communicators, and able to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment. The position requires flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotational basis. The work environment usually has a moderate noise level. Physical demands include standing for long periods and being able to lift up to 45 pounds, stand, stoop, lift, wipe, reach, and type without assistance. Compensation is $16 per hour.

• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram-form instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 45 pounds, as well as stand, stoop, lift, wipe, reach, and type without assistance.

• Previous point-of-sale experience, retail sales, gas station attendant, or customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and greet all customers.
• Maintain the store’s appearance so it is clean, neat, and organized.
• Handle accurate point-of-sale customer transactions.
• Stock and clean the store.
• Maintain the cleanliness and management of the gas pumps and the outside appearance of the store.
• Support team members and promote a positive team environment.
