About The Position

The Busser clears used tableware, napkins, and refuse from tables, cleans tables and chairs, and removes crumbs and debris from surrounding floor areas. The role resets tables for new customers, maintains clean and stocked bus and service stations, retrieves dishes and supplies, and supports waitstaff and guests with beverages, condiments, food items, and clean tableware. Bussers also sweep restaurant floors, replenish ice stations, maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor, and perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of restaurant operations.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, including serving trays, carts, tables, chairs, and small equipment.
• Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, and finger throughout the shift.
• Full range of mobility and ability to travel up to 300 feet regularly during the shift.
• Ability to stand continuously during preparation, service, or expediting.
• Ability to read meters and controls.

Responsibilities

• Clear used tableware, napkins, and refuse from tables; wipe tables and chairs and clear debris and crumbs from nearby floor areas.
• Reset tables according to established standards so new customers can be seated promptly.
• Take full tubs from bus stations to the dishwashing area and keep bus stations clean, stocked, and orderly.
• Retrieve cleaned dishes, glassware, and utensils from the dish room and distribute them to service stations.
• Sweep restaurant floors throughout the shift.
• Retrieve requisitioned items from the stockroom, check that requisitions are complete and correct, and stock and rotate supplies appropriately.
• Assist waitstaff by refilling beverages and responding to requests for condiments, food items, or clean tableware.
• Carry ice from the main ice machine to refill individual ice stations.
• Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor.
• Perform other duties assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
