About The Position

Morada Bay Beach Cafe is hiring a Busser at its Islamorada, Florida Keys location. The Busser helps maintain the restaurant’s ambiance and efficiency by keeping the dining room and service areas clean, welcoming, and ready for guests. The role includes greeting guests, clearing and resetting tables, maintaining bus stations, handling and polishing service items, and supporting the service team. Training is provided for safe lifting, bloodborne pathogens, food safety, and slip, trip, and fall prevention.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Able to speak, read, and write English.
• Basic food and beverage knowledge.
• Friendly, positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
• Professional demeanor and commitment to high-quality guest service.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or GED is listed under Education; the job summary also states there are no specific educational requirements and training will be provided.

Nice To Haves

• Communication skills in other languages are helpful.
• Ability to work well under pressure while retaining tact and composure when dealing with upset guests.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet guests and contribute to a positive first impression.
• Clear tables by removing tableware, napkins, and refuse, and wipe down tables and chairs.
• Reset tables promptly to restaurant standards.
• Keep bus stations clean, stocked, and orderly.
• Distribute cleaned dishes, glassware, and utensils to service stations.
• Polish glassware and silverware and inspect them for cleanliness and presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness in the restaurant, including floors and service areas.
• Retrieve and fold linens and maintain appropriate stock levels at service stations.
• Follow Board of Health cleanliness standards.
• Participate in team briefings and maintain a professional appearance.
• Maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor.
• Respond positively to guest inquiries and assist with resolving issues.
• Complete training on safe lifting procedures, bloodborne pathogens, food safety, and slip/trip/fall prevention in food preparation and service areas.
