Busser/Food Runner (HK)
About The Position
Kona Brewing Hawaii Kai Pub is looking for an energetic, dependable Busser / Food Runner to help create an exceptional guest experience. We are looking for someone to work between 20-40 hours/week with flexible availability. This position will pay $19/hour and be eligible for all benefits and tips. This role supports our front-of-house team by keeping the dining room clean, organized, and ready for guests while ensuring food is delivered promptly, accurately, and with aloha. Requirements
- A positive, guest-focused attitude and genuine interest in hospitality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
- Dependability, punctuality, and strong teamwork skills.
- Clear communication and willingness to take direction from leadership and coworkers.
- Ability to stay organized and attentive to detail while managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, reach, lift, carry, and move up to 30–40 pounds safely.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Nice To Haves
- Previous restaurant, hospitality, busser, food runner, or customer-service experience is preferred but not required—we are willing to train the right person.
Responsibilities
- Clear, clean, sanitize, and reset dining tables quickly and thoroughly between guests.
- Deliver food from the kitchen to guests accurately, promptly, and with a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Communicate clearly with servers, kitchen team members, hosts, and managers to support smooth service.
- Assist servers with guest needs, including refilling water, delivering condiments, clearing plates, and maintaining table cleanliness.
- Keep dining rooms, service stations, patios, restrooms, and other guest-facing areas clean, stocked, and presentable.
- Assist with opening, closing, side-work, and deep-cleaning duties as assigned.
- Maintain adequate supplies of clean glassware, utensils, napkins, plates, and service items.
- Help ensure food is presented and delivered according to Kona Brewing’s quality and hospitality standards.
- Safely handle dishware, glassware, cleaning products, and restaurant equipment.
- Follow all food-safety, sanitation, workplace-safety, and responsible-alcohol-service procedures.
- Support the team wherever needed during busy shifts, special events, and large parties.
