Business Systems Administrator

Agriland FS•Winterset, IA

About The Position

AGRILAND FS is seeking a Business Systems Administrator to own core platform operations and tier-1 support across its business systems, initially focusing on Salesforce and its surrounding toolchain. The role is intended to grow beyond system administration into business analysis and AI-assisted custom application development as the employee builds familiarity with the core systems. The initial focus includes supporting users, managing user access and permissions, administering supporting tools, configuring Salesforce declaratively, and creating support documentation. Around six months into the role, responsibilities may expand to process discovery and mapping with business units, translating operational needs into functional and technical requirements, and identifying system-level improvements. Over time, the position can also grow into Salesforce Lightning Web Component and AWS serverless application development, AI-assisted development workflows, and participation in Git-based version control, code reviews, and CI/CD deployments. Longer-term paths may include end-to-end solution ownership, system administration practice leadership, senior business analysis, serverless application architecture, or ATLAS data platform engineering.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience administering a business system, such as Salesforce or a comparable platform.
  • A strong service mindset.
  • Interest in learning across disciplines and understanding how the whole business operates.
  • Curiosity about business workflows, strong problem-solving instincts, and an interest in process mapping.
  • Exposure to JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or basic scripting such as Python or Apex.
  • Comfort using AI assistants critically in administrative workflows, documentation, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to build trust with business users and clearly communicate technical details.
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing and a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for user questions, support triage, and bug ticket resolution across company platforms.
  • Manage user onboarding, offboarding, role and profile adjustments, and permission sets in Salesforce and connected tools.
  • Administer and maintain supporting tools, including Claude AI, Jotform, 123FormBuilder, DocsMadeEasy, backup tooling, GitHub, and ClickUp.
  • Perform Salesforce configuration, including objects, flows, validation rules, and page layouts.
  • Create repeatable support documentation and develop the internal knowledge base using AI assistants.
  • Partner with business units to observe workflows and map end-to-end business processes.
  • Translate operational pain points into functional specifications, process flowcharts, user stories, and technical requirements.
  • Identify cross-departmental process bottlenecks and design system-level improvements.
  • Grow into developing Lightning Web Components and custom applications on the AWS serverless stack.
  • Use AI to prototype components, generate code, write test suites, and accelerate development tasks.
  • Learn and participate in Git-based version control, code reviews, and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
  • Potentially own projects from process mapping through configuration, development, deployment, and user training.
  • Potentially help establish and lead a cross-departmental system administrator cohort and shared standards and DevOps processes.

  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Paid time off, sick pay, and paid holidays.
  • 100% company-funded pension plan at no cost to the employee.
