About The Position

The Business Process Analyst 2 serves as a connector between business users and technical teams, translating business needs into clear, actionable technology requirements. The role gathers and analyzes complex business processes, leads requirements-gathering sessions, and creates documentation such as process flows, use cases, and future-state designs. It validates requirements with stakeholders, supports scenario-based testing, and assists with project planning so business analysis activities align with project goals. The position applies cross-functional system thinking to assess the effects of changes across interconnected technologies, recommend process improvements, identify risks, and help guide teams through operational changes. Compared with the BPA1 level, the BPA2 uses more advanced business modeling and solution-evaluation skills and mentors less experienced staff. This position works on-site daily at the Department of Children and Youth office at 246 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio. Core agency hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; with supervisory approval, employees may start between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Travel is required as needed. The role is permanent, full-time, and classified under OCSEA. The stated compensation is $41.81 per hour at hire, with a step-based wage progression.
