About The Position

The Business Management Senior Manager will oversee the day-to-day business operations across departments of the Spaceport Infrastructure, Maintenance, and Operations Contract at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. This role includes leading and supervising employees, ensuring productivity, maintaining smooth business operations, enforcing work standards, and optimizing resource utilization while ensuring compliance with contract requirements and organizational policies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in personnel management, financial oversight, performance monitoring and operational planning and execution contributing to the successful execution of spaceport operations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., business, management, or a technical discipline).
15+ years of progressively challenging experience in technical, supervisory, or management roles, including at least 6 years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
Proven ability to manage large teams and complex operations in a high-paced, compliance-driven environment.
Strong organizational, planning, and leadership skills, with a focus on team productivity and operational excellence.
Demonstrated knowledge of resource management, operational planning, and safety compliance.
Secret Clearance Required.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to create work schedules and budgets.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 19 years of relevant experience (4 years additional experience required in lieu of a degree).
Previous experience in a NASA or federal government contract environment.
Familiarity with spaceport operations and support services.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee daily business operations of the SIMO, ensuring adherence to contract requirements, budget, policies, and work standards.
Formulate and enforce operational policies, work rules, and performance standards to meet mission objectives.
Work with outside vendors to maintain necessary business supplies.
Design and implement procedures to improve contract performance and delivery.
Manage work schedules and organize employee training.
Plan and manage the efficient use of materials, resources, and personnel to ensure optimal productivity and performance.
Monitor and evaluate work activities, addressing challenges, and implementing process improvements as necessary.
Lead and mentor a team of supervisors, technical staff, and support personnel, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
Collaborate with program management and other functional leads to ensure alignment with overall contract goals and deliverables.
Prepare and present reports on business performance, resource utilization, and personnel productivity to senior management and government representatives.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
