About The Position

We are automating construction end to end to usher in a new era of abundance and beauty in the physical world in the coming decades. Over the past fifty years, the West’s ability to design and build large scale infrastructure has atrophied, and the entire industry has become less productive. With decaying infrastructure, power shortages, and an aging workforce, the only way through is to hyper-scale development with technology at a rate never before seen. Our team believes that this is the most important work of our lives, and there’s no more significant place to spend our time than on solving these problems. We believe in the sacrifices that we must make to achieve our mission and build a world of abundance. We believe the future can be amazing, but only if we work gut-wrenchingly hard to make it so. Our work is bigger than all of us, and our obsession with manifesting is what drives us. Roughly 50% of our team are former founders, and we strive for technical excellence, but quell our egos to ensure that the best ideas always win. We acknowledge the long and arduous path ahead to achieve our ambitions; that many of the most difficult challenges have yet to even be revealed to us; that the chance of failure is not only possible, but likely. Most of all, we believe that there is no other option: we will either revolutionize how humanity builds or die trying. This role is for the first full-time commercial team member. The company is almost entirely engineers, and has closed significant revenue through founder-led sales. Now that the product is robust and scalable, the company aims to scale its commercial efforts. This person will help find developers and hyperscalers building large-scale energy and data center projects, and get the company onto important projects. The role involves owning the entire process: finding the right people, working the network of investors and supporters, and engaging with a developer's engineering and development leads to explain the benefits of fast, iterative, and flexible engineering instead of a months-long serial bottleneck. The job requires understanding customer goals and figuring out how to achieve them, sometimes with the current product, sometimes by prioritizing future capabilities. This requires an intimate understanding of both the customer's process, constraints, and bottlenecks, and the company's team and product capabilities. This is a discovery job more than a convincing job, as the offering is very different from current industry practices. The focus is on finding culturally aligned customers who want to move faster, the right project to demonstrate this, and the right way to collaborate. Many potential partners already understand the value proposition; the job is to find them and educate them on a new way to build. The company is in its early stages with no existing sales team, playbook, or polished process. The role is not about building these from scratch. The company already partners with ambitious and respected companies in the industry and aims to scale from these initial projects. Repetitive tasks are expected to be automated with AI. This role is in-person in San Francisco, CA, and is not a 9-to-5 position.

Requirements

  • Lived inside large capital projects (utility-scale energy, data centers, or comparable) from either the engineering side or the developer side, and understand what a developer actually needs.
  • Frustrated with how slowly projects move today and inherently understand what faster, more iterative engineering unlocks.
  • Hungry and scrappy: willing to do every step yourself, from the first intro to the signed project, without a support team.
  • Ability to translate customer needs into engineering requirements and product capabilities into customer interest.
  • Comfortable educating sophisticated customers on a fundamentally new way to build.
  • Comfortable walking away from customers who aren't ready.
  • An AI bull: already automates everything repetitive with AI, or is on that ramp and can demonstrate it.
  • Mission alignment and desire to build a future of abundance.
  • Background in utility-scale energy, data centers, or other large capital projects, as an engineer, developer, owner's rep, EPC, or similar.
  • No formal sales background required.

Nice To Haves

  • An existing network among energy developers, hyperscaler infrastructure teams, EPCs, or utilities.
