About The Position

ShipIt, a fast-growing logistics provider serving e-commerce businesses, is seeking a Business Development Specialist to manage the full SMB sales cycle, from outbound outreach through signed contracts and client onboarding. The specialist owns an active sales pipeline and develops cold and warm prospects into long-term clients whose operational needs fit ShipIt's services. The role involves qualifying prospective clients, preparing tailored proposals, addressing objections, negotiating commercial agreements, and coordinating with Account Management to ensure smooth client handoffs. The specialist also records sales activity, maintains CRM deal stages, reports on performance, shares lead feedback and client wins with other teams, and participates in regular sales training and coaching. This is a full-time, in-office position in Hurricane, Utah, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Reliable transportation is required, and occasional business travel may arise. Pay is $35,000 to $42,000 annually plus commission.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in B2B or SMB sales, carrying a quota and closing deals from prospecting through signature.
  • Clear, assertive communication skills across phone, email, and virtual meetings, including the ability to discuss numbers and terms plainly.
  • Willingness to address objections directly and avoid overpromising on capabilities.
  • High personal accountability and discipline in organizing outreach, managing pipeline stages, and meeting measurable targets without constant supervision.
  • Ability to recognize and walk away from deals that are a poor operational fit.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and CRM platforms.
  • Willingness to engage in structured internal study, routine sales drills, and active coaching.
  • Ability to work full-time in the office, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel occasionally as business needs arise.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain an active SMB pipeline through daily outbound prospecting, warm lead follow-up, and CRM management.
  • Qualify prospective clients against fit criteria, including operational scope, volume, and growth plans.
  • Prepare and present tailored proposals outlining pricing, service terms, and mutual expectations.
  • Address client hesitation, pricing concerns, and service objections professionally.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and guide prospects through final contract execution.
  • Coordinate with Account Management on thorough handoffs so new clients can onboard smoothly.
  • Log daily sales activity, update deal stages, and submit weekly performance reports tracking calls, meetings, proposals, and closes.
  • Share lead feedback with Marketing and Customer Success and highlight referenceable client wins.
  • Participate in weekly sales drills, skill-building workshops, and internal training.
