Business Development Representative - Enterprise

Spade•New York, NY
•$110,000 - $150,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Spade is a data and AI platform that transforms inconsistent payment transaction descriptions into structured, verified records. Its products support authorization, attribution, analytics, and AI initiatives for financial institutions and fintech companies. Spade is a fast-growing Series B company backed by industry experts and investors, with a lean, execution-oriented hybrid team. As Spade’s first Enterprise Business Development Representative, you will create the outbound sales playbook from the ground up. You will engage a named list of banks and fintechs through tailored research and outreach, partnering directly with the CRO, account executives, and CEO. The role owns qualified-meeting outcomes and the supporting pipeline, rather than daily activity quotas, and includes conference and dinner outreach.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience as an outbound BDR or SDR, breaking into enterprise accounts or financial institutions and regularly beating a meetings or pipeline target.
  • Track record of breaking into enterprise accounts with tailored, well-researched outreach.
  • Strong writing skills, including the ability to write short, specific messages in the buyer’s language.
  • Experience using conferences and events as a pipeline channel, including pre-booking, filling seats, and follow-up.
  • Self-driven, persistent, creative, and motivated to secure and hold meetings.
  • Ability to work without an established playbook; experience setting up and independently running a BDR process from zero.
  • Proficiency in outbound sales processes and tools, including Salesforce or HubSpot and familiarity with the broader outbound stack.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling to growth-stage and enterprise fintech companies and/or banks.
  • Experience as the first or only BDR at a company.
  • An established LinkedIn presence or social-selling experience that produces meetings.
  • AI fluency, including building research or list-building workflows to improve outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Build Spade’s outbound motion, including channels, cadence, tooling, and weekly operating rhythm.
  • Research named target banks and fintechs and identify relevant contacts.
  • Use tailored outbound outreach to engage prospects, handle initial objections, and book meetings with account executives.
  • Own a qualified-meetings target and the pipeline behind it.
  • Write and test LinkedIn and email sequences and messaging to improve responses from target buyers.
  • Hand off booked meetings with context about the buyer, their priorities, and prior conversations.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and report weekly on reply rate, meetings booked, and show rate.
  • Manage conference and dinner outreach, including invite lists, pre-booked meetings, filling seats, and follow-up.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation.
  • Meaningful equity, with early exercise flexibility and an extended post-termination options period.
  • 100% paid medical, mental, dental, and vision premium option, plus One Medical membership for US-based employees.
  • 401(k).
  • 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave for parents welcoming a new child into their home.
  • Unlimited PTO.
  • Flexible in-person culture, with a hybrid, dog-friendly NYC headquarters and remote opportunities for certain roles in the US and Canada.
  • Work-from-home stipend.
  • Company-paid lunches.
  • Citi Bike membership.
