The Business Development Representative (BDR) serves as a link between marketing and sales, developing, qualifying, and nurturing leads. The role involves gathering intelligence, profiling relevant prospects, and converting them into opportunities. Leads may come from marketing campaigns, focused BDRs, partners, consultants, or Sales Executives’ networks. The BDR follows up with leads and engages decision-makers and stakeholders at large companies, collaborating with BDRs and teams across marketing, sales, and consulting. In conjunction with a manager, the BDR works toward targets such as appointments and pipeline creation. Success in the role means generating a stronger, qualified pipeline; accelerating deal velocity in enterprise opportunities; increasing engagement from buying committees and key stakeholders; and achieving measurable revenue growth from existing customers.
