About The Position

Riverlane is hiring a Business Development Manager to grow its business with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and DOE National Laboratories. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this senior individual contributor role combines business development, capture management, and technical solution shaping. The successful candidate will identify opportunities, build customer and partner relationships, develop white papers, respond to RFIs, and lead proposals for RFPs, grants, and other government funding opportunities. The role engages DOE lab leadership, technical representatives, program managers, and industry partners to understand mission needs and develop compelling solutions using Riverlane’s quantum error correction technologies. Opportunities may involve direct sales to national laboratories or partnered solutions with technology companies, systems integrators, and research collaborators. The position is primarily focused on DOE, with possible occasional engagement with other U.S. government agencies. It has no direct reports and requires independent ownership across technical, commercial, and government stakeholder groups. Regular travel to DOE national laboratories and other customer or partner sites is expected, likely up to 30–40%. Riverlane develops quantum error correction technology intended to enable fault-tolerant quantum computing. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, equity, paid time off, family leave, and learning and development opportunities.
