Kimmel & Associates•Sacramento, CA

About The Position

Our client, a well-established general engineering contractor with decades of experience delivering complex infrastructure and civil construction projects, is seeking an entrepreneurial, relationship-driven Business Development Manager to establish and grow its presence in Las Vegas and the broader Nevada market. The company specializes in pipeline and underground wet utilities, facilities, private development, and concrete and pavement construction, and is investing in expansion into Nevada. This newly created, fully remote role offers ownership over a market and autonomy to help build it. The focus is identifying and developing opportunities involving pipeline and underground water infrastructure projects, typically ranging from $1 million to $60 million. The role will help open doors, develop strategic relationships, build the company's local visibility, and generate opportunities that convert into awarded work. It is not focused on treatment plants or vertical construction. The company is open to candidates from other relationship-driven industries, including commercial real estate, industrial or materials sales, and account management. The role works closely with operations and estimating teams and contributes to long-term business development strategy, market expansion, brand visibility, and marketing initiatives. Travel is expected approximately 2–3 times per month, including regular travel to Las Vegas and occasional travel to Northern California and Texas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Approximately 5–10 years of business development, sales, account management, or relationship-driven experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to open doors, build trust, and develop long-term relationships with senior-level decision-makers.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently and build a market through personal initiative.
  • Comfort working remotely while maintaining a highly visible presence in the target market.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 2–3 times per month, including regular travel to Las Vegas and occasional travel to Northern California and Texas.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with operational, estimating, and preconstruction teams.
