About The Position

The Business Development Executive drives Gartner’s growth by acquiring new clients across an assigned Mid-Sized Enterprise territory. The role develops trust-based relationships with C-level executives, understands their mission-critical priorities, and identifies opportunities to deliver value through Gartner’s insights and services. Prospects may be new to Gartner or existing clients of other Gartner business areas; Mid-Sized Enterprise clients have up to $1 billion in annual revenue. The position owns the full sales cycle, from prospecting and initial outreach through sales conversations, negotiation, closing, and transition of new clients to the account management team. The executive manages a territory quota, builds and forecasts a high-quality pipeline, and plans accounts across monthly, quarterly, and annual horizons. The role works collaboratively with account management and operates in a hybrid environment, working virtually and in an office when there is a business reason to do so. In-office activities may occur several times each week depending on the sales region. Gartner offers progression opportunities into roles such as Business Development Director, Team Lead, and Sales Manager. Compensation includes a base salary range of $64,000–$83,000, plus participation in a bonus plan or role-based uncapped sales incentive plan. The posting also describes competitive benefits and sales training and professional development opportunities.
