About The Position

The Bulk Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market oversees the maintenance, packaging, stocking, and presentation of the store’s bulk foods. The role leads a team to deliver quality products and customer service while maintaining clean, orderly, and compliant bulk areas. The manager handles inventory and ordering, schedules and staffing, team development and performance management, and may serve as a Key Carrier or Manager on Duty as needed. The position includes receiving, unloading, and stocking merchandise and requires working a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have 1–2 years of experience in a retail grocery environment and 1 year of managerial leadership experience.
Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a changing, flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
Possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
Demonstrate outgoing, friendly behavior and a positive attitude toward Team Members and customers.
Be able to move product weighing up to 50 pounds vertically and horizontally from 4 to 36 inches, over a distance of up to 4 feet, for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance.
Be able to stand continuously for up to 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours per shift.

Responsibilities

Oversee maintenance, packaging, and stocking of all bulk foods.
Follow the merchandising Bulk plan and ensure team members package and scale items, fill bulk bins, and prepare, wrap, and price packages accurately and legibly.
Order and maintain inventory, rotate products using code dates, and follow the company cleaning and sanitation program.
Ensure department compliance with company and governmental safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL regulations.
Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
Provide a high level of customer service and lead the team in delivering quality products and a positive customer experience.
Ensure bulk items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, and that the Bulk area is clean and orderly.
Receive, unload, and stock merchandise as needed.
Coach and develop team members, provide feedback and one-on-one development discussions, and recommend merit increases through the bi-annual performance review process.
Attend and participate in in-store meetings.
Recruit, hire, and make promotion or transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
Use independent judgment to address Team Member concerns.
Document and take corrective actions as needed, collaborating with business and HR partners on coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination.
Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to support productivity and efficiency.
Serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as Manager on Duty as needed.
Know weekly ad items, direct customers to product locations, and perform general housekeeping in the department.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
