Building Safety Monitor
About The Position
ReDiscover’s Safety & Security Department helps provide a safe, welcoming environment for clients, staff, and guests while maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The department develops and implements safety plans across ReDiscover locations and special events and often serves as the first point of contact for people entering its facilities. The Building Safety Monitor greets and monitors people entering and leaving facilities, monitors building cameras and designated areas, assists with safety plans, and responds to emergencies. The role supports operations across multiple locations and requires flexibility to work at different sites and occasional varying shifts. The position is stationary and is regularly scheduled Tuesday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Candidates must be available for rotating weekends and holidays as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least two years of relevant security experience.
- Consistent and regular attendance.
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Availability to work rotating weekends and holidays as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with digital control systems and a variety of building automation systems.
Responsibilities
- Greet and monitor all persons entering and leaving ReDiscover facilities.
- Monitor building camera systems as needed.
- Monitor external walkways, parking lots, lobbies, entryways, internal hallways, restrooms, and other areas as needed.
- Assist with the development and implementation of safety plans for various locations and special events.
- Respond to 911 calls, notify appropriate ReDiscover personnel about emergencies, and communicate with emergency response agencies as appropriate.
- Work scheduled shifts and notify the Safety & Security Team Leader as soon as possible of anticipated or unexpected absences.
- Support Building Safety operations across multiple ReDiscover locations to ensure continuous, high-quality service.
- Remain flexible to work at different locations and occasional varying shifts based on staffing and operational needs.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Safety & Security Team Leader, in collaboration with the Director of Physical Infrastructure.
