About The Position

The Building Safety Monitor joins ReDiscover’s Safety & Security Department, which works to provide a safe, welcoming environment for clients, staff, and guests while maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The department develops and implements safety plans across ReDiscover locations and special events.

This is a stationary position based in Kansas City, Missouri. The regular schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. The role supports operations across multiple ReDiscover locations and may require working at different sites and occasional varying shifts according to staffing and operational needs. Candidates must be available for rotating weekends and holidays as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of relevant security experience.
• Consistent and regular attendance.
• Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with digital control systems and a variety of building automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet and monitor all persons entering and leaving ReDiscover facilities.
• Monitor building camera systems as needed.
• Monitor external walkways, parking lots, lobbies, entryways, internal hallways, restrooms, and other areas as needed.
• Assist with developing and implementing safety plans for various locations and special events.
• Respond to 911 calls, notify appropriate ReDiscover personnel of emergency situations, and communicate with emergency response agencies as appropriate.
• Work scheduled shifts reliably and notify the Safety & Security Team Leader as soon as possible of anticipated or unexpected absences.
• Support Building Safety operations across multiple ReDiscover locations to ensure continuous, high-quality service.
• Remain flexible to work at different locations and occasional varying shifts based on staffing and operational needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Safety & Security Team Leader, in collaboration with the Director of Physical Infrastructure.
