Building Maintenance Laborer (Returning Staff ONLY) 26-27 Winter Season
About The Position
The Building Maintenance Laborer is responsible for removing snow and ice from decks and walkways at Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities, removing trash and cardboard, and placing waste in the compactor and baler. The role also performs other maintenance tasks as needed or directed by the Facility and Grounds Manager. The employee is expected to maintain a neat, clean, and safe appearance and interact with guests and owners in a pleasant, service-oriented manner. The role involves daily guest contact to support guest comfort, answer questions, and provide general assistance. Employees must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have English reading, writing, communication, and basic math skills.
- Be able to stand or walk for up to 8 hours a day.
- Be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Complete a background check.
- Complete driver verification.
Nice To Haves
- A valid driver's license is preferred.
- Some mechanical know-how and the ability to perform minor snowblower repairs are preferred.
- Have or be willing to obtain extensive knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and activities.
Responsibilities
- Operate a snowblower and use a shovel to remove snow and ice from decks and walkways.
- Operate the trash compactor and cardboard baler.
- Perform other maintenance duties as needed or as directed by the Facility and Grounds Manager.
- Initiate daily guest contact to ensure guest comfort, answer questions, and provide general assistance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
