About The Position

On-call snowmobile rescue team member responding to lost or injured guests who are outside the ski area boundary and not easily accessible. The role requires extensive knowledge of Schweitzer’s backcountry and side country and excellent snowmobile operating skills. The Rescue Snowmobiler coordinates rescues with Schweitzer Patrol and must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and load, unload, and operate snowmobiles in various conditions. Applicants must own and operate their own snowmobile.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of Schweitzer’s backcountry and side country.
• Excellent snowmobile operating skills.
• Owns and operates their own snowmobile.
• Able to remain outside in all weather conditions.
• Able to load, unload, and operate snowmobiles in various conditions.
• Minimum age of 18.
• No minimum education or related-position experience required.

Responsibilities

• Respond on call to rescue lost or injured guests outside the ski area boundary who are not easily accessible.
• Coordinate rescues with Schweitzer Patrol.
• Load, unload, and operate a snowmobile in various conditions.
